In Falsus Story Guide: Scenario, Arcs and How Songs Unlock

What the Scenario is

The Scenario is In Falsus’ story mode, and the game treats it as the main event: lowiro’s launch trailer bills the game as “Music Game x Card Crafting x ADV”. It follows five 16-year-old girls, Nia, Mei, Ayame, Iris and Story, as they are pulled into a strange program and discover another side of their world. Every line is voiced in Japanese; text is available in English, Japanese and Chinese. The characters page has each of them.

The world

  • The country is Aulveld, and much of the story happens in Amachi, its cultural centre on the River of Heaven.
  • Everyone wears a collar that shows their emotions and gives away lies. The official site calls it a world “bound to truth”, living under an unexplained Shroud.
  • Some people choose to become Mutes; Story is one.
  • The program the five are recruited into is called AARC. The community wiki describes their advisor, Freya, as working for a United World Government scheme of that name.

The official site’s World page is written like an encyclopedia, with parts deliberately blacked out.

How it is structured

The Scenario is broken into dated entries, each from one character’s point of view: for example 8/28 Morning #2 is Nia’s and 8/28 Morning #3 has an entry for Ayame. You switch between the five perspectives as the days go on. Entries are grouped into Arcs; Arc 1 is titled The First Lie, which is also the name of the achievement for clearing it.

The achievement IDs show at least Arc 1, Arc 2, an Arc 2.5 and Arcs 3 and 4. On 10 September 2026, a day after launch, 16.5% of players had cleared Arc 1, 3.3% Arc 2, 0.9% Arc 2.5 and 0.1% Arc 3 (see achievements).

Encounters in the story

Some entries end in an Encounter, a song you play against an opponent with your cards. Early ones recorded by the community wiki are ZFC against a Detective and New Vision against Mei, both on Nia’s route. In a story Encounter, letting your Resolve fall below 0 ends it on the spot, and the Scenario will not move on until you win. The Encounters guide explains the maths.

How long is it?

lowiro has not given a length. Early player reports vary: one Steam reviewer had just finished the first act after about seven hours, and another played the story for three hours straight on launch day. The arc clear rates above suggest few players have reached the later arcs yet.

Can you skip it?

Partly. There is a fast-forward, but it slows down at key story moments, and one Steam thread asks why. Several threads ask for a real skip, because many songs and Blueprints unlock through Scenario entries. If you only want the rhythm game, fast-forward and use Music Play for songs you have already unlocked.

Who wrote it

Director Guy (Anton Prydatko) leads the project, and the community wiki credits Terrence Smith (Swiff) as scenario writer and fixro2n for character design.

What the title means

“In falsus” is Latin, roughly “in falsehood”. It echoes the legal maxim “falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus”, false in one thing, false in everything, which fits a world where collars expose every lie. It is also the name of one of the hidden achievements.
